Stories that feel like home

A funny family moment. A new adventure. A gentle lesson, told with love. We’re exploring new picture books that help African children see themselves and their families on the page.

Share a short idea, an introduction to your work or a portfolio link. Writers, illustrators and creative partnerships across Africa and the diaspora are welcome.

How a commission could work

  1. Start a conversation. Share a short pitch or examples of your own work.
  2. Agree the project. If there is a fit, we discuss the brief, budget, schedule and credit.
  3. Create with a clear agreement. Fees, payment stages, rights and any royalties are agreed in writing before commissioned work begins.

Your work stays yours

An enquiry does not transfer ownership of your work or guarantee a commission. Please share only material you own or have permission to share. A short pitch is enough; save full manuscripts and finished artwork for a later conversation.
